[BEGINNING OF TRANSCRIPT] [Maria Ngo] So Nick, welcome to CES. [Nick Verreos] Hi! [Maria Ngo] Tell me about the fashion show that is happening here. [Nick Verreos] Well I’m so honored. This is my second. No, third time hosting this fabulous fashion show, the Fashion Ware Show and it’s presented by Living in Digital Media and it’s all about fashion meets technology. So it’s not just about some this, but it’s about incorporating technology into vests, into hats, into tops and taking athletic, athletic wear, you know. At leisure it’s a big trend, [Maria Ngo] [laughs] [Nick Verreos] right? [Maria Ngo] Yeah. [Nick Verreos] Well now we’re calling it ‘at couture’ and ‘at luxury.’ But you’ll see, a lot of stuff that is ready-to-wear meaning you can buy now. So you’ll see like a Scottevest. A vest from Scottevest and it’s the vest that has 29 pockets. You can even fit two laptops, [Maria Ngo] (Whoa!) [Nick Verreos] in there. I’ll know about checking it in into the TSA airport. That might be trouble. [Maria Ngo] [laughs] [Nick Verreos] But there’s also a helmet that lights up with LED lights that tells you when you’re turning right or left. You wear it. When you’re riding a bike. But then we also have some couture dresses that light up with your heartbeat. So if your heart beats a little slow, it’s a little delicate lighting. The lights are on the garment itself. And then if your heartbeat is faster, then you are like a, this dancing disco ball. [Maria Ngo] If there’s a cute guy or girl coming… [Nick Verreos] Oh Yeah. [Maria Ngo] Yeah right. They can tell like you’re… [Nick Verreos] Yeah, exactly, that your heartbeat is… exactly! [Maria Ngo] and [Nick Verreos] [laughs] [Nick Verreos] So like if your husband or boyfriend or girlfriend, your significant other is coming by and your heart beating and doing much. [Maria Ngo] and [Nick Verreos] [laughs] [Maria Ngo] you better… [Nick Verreos] Exactly, you better be like… Hi! [Maria Ngo] and [Nick Verreos] [laughs] [Nick Verreos] Exactly. So you’ll see a lot of that in the show. And that’s what I love about it. I love that it’s not just showing a lot of, you know, stuff like accessories per say. [Maria Ngo] Yeah. [Nick Verreos] But then you also see actual garments. And as a fashion designer, you know I just finished writing a book, “A Passion for Fashion” It’s all about having a passion for the technology and the technology meeting fashion. And as you know, if you watch Project Runway, we’ve had some of that technology into some of the challenges. [Maria Ngo] So very cool. My final question is: ‘What is your success advice because this is a very competitive industry, [Nick Verreos] (Yes, yes.) [Maria Ngo] what is your advice to anybody out there who has this massive dream?’ [Nick Verreos] Oh my gosh! I would say two things because I was one of those people. I was one of those kids when I was very young. I love to sketch and I don’t know how to translate it but I kept on having that passion. So my first advice is: Have that passion. You have that gut feeling continuing. You can do other things but as long as you keep that gut feeling about going innovating and following your dream. I know it sounds so cliché but trust me, like if you have that passion to follow your dream, do it. My second advice is get the coffee. [Maria Ngo] Get the coffee? [Nick Verreos] That is my second advice. I put it in my book. You need to get the coffee no matter what industry. It could be fashion, computers, technology, anything. Get the coffee. And I do mean get the coffee. But I also mean, go above and beyond. [Maria Ngo] Right on. Thank you so much. [Nick Verreos] (Thank you very much.) [Maria Ngo] Congratulations on all your success. [Nick Verreos] Oh, Thank you! Bye… [END OF TRANSCRIPT]—
